Compota De Peras(Pear Compote) spanish 2 lb pears 1/2 lb sugar 2 cup water 1 cinnamon stick (3 inches) 1 grated zest of 1/2 lemon Peel and core the pears. Place in pot with remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Cook 10-15 minutes, until the pears are very soft but still hold their shape.
