Walnut Sauce [georgian] american, ethnic, russian, sauces 3/4 cup walnuts, ground 4 garlic cloves, minced. 1 small onion, minced. 3 tablespoon coriander, fresh, finely chopped. 1/2 teaspoon coriander seeds, -or- crushed, 1/4 teaspoon coriander, ground -or- 1 pinch cayenne 1/4 teaspoon fenugreek, ground. 1 1/2 tablespoon vinegar, tarragon 3 tablespoon water 1 salt, to taste. 1 pomegranate seeds, -or- 1 walnut pieces, -or- for gar; nish. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. To serve, spread the on a plate and smooth the top with a spatula. With a knife, make a pattern of diamonds in the top and sprinkle with pomegranate seeds, if available, or with walnut pieces.
