Knedle Filled With Onion - Noodles - Pc onion, pasta, polish, side dish ----FILLING---- 4 1/2 tablespoon fat 2 small onion 5 tablespoon bread crumbs 1 salt and pepper ----DOUGH---- 2 cup flour 10 medium potatoes 1 egg 1 salt 3 tablespoon butter or fat back for dotting Prepare filling. Chop onion finely, place in hot fat, stew slowly. Add bread crumbs, salt and pepper to taste, mix, fry, cool. Prepare dough. Wash potatoes, cook, peel, put through food chopper. Combine grated potatoes with sifted flour, add egg and salt, knead. Shape into a roll. : Cut roll into little cakes, spread with filling, seal and shape into balls. : Cook the balls in boiling salted water, remove with draining spoon, pour over with warm water, place on heated platter, dot with browned butter or fat back, and serve immediately. _Polish Cookbook_, Zofia Czerny, 1961 & 1975.
