2 lb string beans
1 sugar
1 salt
3 tablespoon bread crumbs
3 tablespoon to 4 tb butter

: Boil a little water, add salt and sugar [to taste]. Rinse beans, remove strings pulling lengthwise along the pod. Drop cleaned beans in boiling water, cook over high flame, covered, stir to ensure even cooking.
