Arizona Elephant Ears Or Navajo Bread Or Indian Fried Bre breads, native 4 cup unsifted flour 1 teaspoon salt 3 teaspoon baking powder 1 1/4 cup lukewarm water Mix dry ingredients. Add water and knead thoroughly. Cover and let stand 10 minutes. Roll dough into balls about 2 inches in diameter and roll them out flat with a roling pin. Cut two slashes in center. Fry on both sides in hot grease until brown. Makes 10 to 12 portions. For the dessert version: drizzle with honey and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
