Serbian Goulash

4 tomatoes
1/4 cup bacon drippings
1 onion; finely chopped
1 1/2 teaspoons Hungarian paprika
5 large green peppers
seeded, deribbed, and cut into thin
Salt; to taste

Fill a large saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Immerse tomatoes in boiling water 15 seconds, then plunge into cold water. Slip off skins and slice tomatoes. In a skillet over medium heat, melt drippings. Add onion and saute until translucent (about 5 minutes). Add paprika, pepper rings, tomato slices, and salt. Cover and simmer over low heat until peppers are tender. NOTES : Yield: 6 servings. 0 0 0 1032 0 0 0
