Xmas Nibbles: Sesame Cheese Stars

5 oz softened butter
5 oz plain flour
5 oz cheddar cheese
1 salt and pepper
1 a little beaten egg
2 tablespoon sesame seeds

Preheat oven to gas mark 4/180C/350F. Grate Cheddar. Sift flour into bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Rub butter into flour. Mix in grated Cheddar to form a sticky dough. Roll out cheese dough finely. Cut out stars using a 2 1/2 in/6cm star cutter. Place pastry stars on lined baking sheets. Brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle over sesame seeds.
