Christmas Sugar Cookies

1 cream
1/2 cup white or brown sugar
1 with
1/2 cup butter or cubed margarine
1 beat in:
2 eggs
2 1/2 to 2 3/4 all purpose flour
2 teaspoon double acting baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla

Chill the dough 3 to 4 hours before rolling. Preheat oven to 375. Bake 7 to 12 minutes. I've doubled this recipe many times and frozen the cookies undecorated until the kids had time to decorate.
