Size approx 5 1/4" in dia gauge: first 2 rnds=7/8" in dia ch10, join w/slst to form ring rnd 1: ch1, work 18 sc over ring, join w/slst to first sc. rnd 2: ch4(counts as one tr) tr in same st as join, 2tr in each sc around, join w/slst to top of beg ch4-36 sts rnd 3: ch5(counts as one tr and ch1), *sk 2 sts (tr, ch3, tr) in next st, ch1, rep from * around, end tr in same st as beg ch4, ch3, slst in 4th ch of beg ch5. rnd 4: slst in ch1 sp, ch1, sc in same sp, *(2tr, ch3, 2tr) in next ch3 sp, sc in next ch1 sp, rep from * around, join w/slst to first sc. rnd 5: ch3(counts as one dc), *(3tr, ch2, 3tr) in next ch3 sp, dc in next sc, rep from * around, join w/slst to top of beg ch3. rnd 6: ch3, dc in same sp as join, *(3tr, ch3, 3tr) in next ch3 sp, sk 3 tr, 2dc in next dc, rep from * around, join to top of beg ch3. rnd 7: slst bet beg ch3 and next dc, ch1, sc in same sp, *ch5, *hdc, ch15, hdc) in next ch3 sp, ch5, sk 3 tr, sc bet next 2dc, rep from * around, end slst in first sc. rnd 8: ch1, sc in same st as join, *ch7 in next ch15 lp work (5sc, ch8, 5sc) ch7, sc in next sc, rep from * around, end slst in first sc. fasten off finishing: dip snowflake in stiffener, squeeze out excess. pin to a wax paper covered styrofoam board. let dry. remove pins. place ribbon needle and working from the back of the snowflake, bring up the ribbon betw 2dc of rnd 3, bring other end of ribbon up bet 2dc on opposite side. take a small bouquet of baby's breath or other dried flowers and place on center of snowflake and tie ribbon across dried flowers into a bow. flowers and bow should be centered so that there is a ch6 point of snowflake straight above for hanging. slip string or hook in the ch6 point above bouquet.
