Home For The Holidays Cake (Whiskey Cake) cakes, desserts 1 1/2 cups butter 2 cups sugar 6 eggs; beaten 3 1/2 cups flour 1 pinch salt 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 cup whiskey 2 teaspoons vanilla 1 pound chopped pecans Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and mix. Sift dry ingredients and add to butter mixture. Slowly add whiskey and vanilla. Fold in nuts. Line two loaf pans with foil and fill 2/3 full. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done. NOTES : I often see some version of this in cookbooks under the name of Christmas Cake with the addition of candied fruit.
