Poppy Seed Holiday Bread breads, main dish, meats 3 cup flour 1 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 2 1/2 cup sugar 2 tablespoon poppy seeds 1 1/2 teaspoon almond extract 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 3 eggs 1 1/2 cup milk 1 1/3 cup oil 6 tablespoon surgar 1/4 teaspoon almond extract 2 tablespoon orange juice 2 tablespoon melted butter Combine flour, salt, baking powder, 2 1/2 cups sugar, poppy seed, flavorings, eggs, milk and oil in mixer bowl. Beat at medium speed until mixed. Spoon into 2 greased and floured 5 x 9-inch loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 1/4 hours or until loaves test done. Brush hot loaves with mixture of 6 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 teaspoon almond extract, orange juice and butter.
