Shoo-Fly Cake (Old Lehigh County Recipe) ethnic, pies 1 1/2 cup flour 1/4 cup lard 1/4 cup butter 1/2 cup water, hot 1 single *pastry 1 cup brown sugar 1 single *or: 1/2 cup molasses 1/2 teaspoon soda Make crumbs by combining the flour, sugar and shortening. Line a pie pan with pastry. Dissolve the soda in the hot water and combine with the molasses. Pour into the pastry-lined pan, top with the crumbs and bake at 350-F until firm.
