Korean Style Barbecue Sauce

ethnic, sauces

1 tablespoon ginger, grated
3 cloves garlic, diced
1 red chili pepper
1/4 cup salad oil (sesame seed oil)
2 tablespoon sake (japanese wine)
2 tablespoon sugar (more if needed)
1/2 cup shoyu

Mix all above ingredients in order in a bottle and shake well. Leave in icebox overnight. This sauce can be used with short ribs, chicken, teriyaki etc. From "My Recipes", Red Hill Elementary School, Honolulu, HI, 1973
