2 butter or margarine; melted
4 teaspoon baking powder
2 tablespoon anise flavoring or vanilla
1 anise seed; optional

Recipe by: "Gooseberry Patch" Old-Fashioned Country Cookies Beat eggs until foamy. Add sugar and melted margarine. Follow with other ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Place 1 teaspoonful on each side of iron and cook until delicately browned. Lay flat until cooled.
