Spiced Nuts appetizers 1 tablespoon unsalted butter -- softened 3/4 cup sugar 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon cloves 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon ginger 1/4 teaspoon allspice 1 egg white -- slightly 1 beaten 2 tablespoon cold water 3 to 4 cups 1 unsalted nuts -- * see note * (walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, pecans, brazil nuts) Preheat oven to 275. With brush, spread butter over large baking sheet. combine sugar, salt and spices in a small bowl. Add egg white and water; stir to a smooth paste. With a fork, mix in nuts 1 cup at a time, making sure all are well-coated. Spread evenly onto baking sheet. Bake 45 minutes until crisp and golden. Let cool completely before storing.
