Paprika Beef With Mushrooms beef - other, stirfry - beef 1 large onion 4 teaspoons vegetable oil 1 pound stir-fry beef strips 4 teaspoons sweet (Hungarian) paprika 1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon caraway seeds; crushed 1/8 teaspoon pepper; or to taste 4 cups quartered mushrooms; 3/4 pound 2 cloves garlic; minced 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour 1 cup beef stock 1/2 cup light sour cream Cut onion in half lengthwise; thinly slice crosswise and set aside. In large nonstick skillet, heat half of the oil olive high heat; stir-fry beef, in batches, for 3 minute or until browned but still pink inside. Transfer to plate along with pan juices; keep warm. Add paprika, marjoram, mustard, caraway seed and pepper to pan; cook over medium heat, stirring, for 30 seconds. Add remaining oil, onion, mushrooms and garlic; cook, stirring often, for 7 minutes or until lightly browned. Sprinkle with flour. Pour in beef stock; cook, stirring, for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in sour cream. Return beef and accumulated juices to pan; cook for 1 minute or until heated through.
