Savory Herb Cheesecake

1 1/2 cups fresh bread crumbs
2/3 cup finely chopped walnuts
3 tablespoons butter; softened
1 1/4 pounds cream cheese; at room temperature
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
4 eggs
2 cloves garlic; minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh tarragon
2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh oregano
1/4 teaspoon pepper

In food processor, combine bread crumbs, walnuts and butter until well mixed. Press onto bottom of 8 inch springform pan. Bake in 350ºF oven for 15 minutes or until golden. Meanwhile; in bowl and using hand mixer, beat together cream cheese and Parmesan cheese until smooth; beat in eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in garlic, tarragon, basil, oregano and pepper; pour over base. Bake for about 1 hour or until golden and puffed. Run sharp knife around edge of cake; let stand for 15 minutes before carefully removing side of pan. (Cake will fall slightly upon cooling.) Cut into wedges.
