Garlicky Mashed Potatoes

2 pounds potatoes; about 5
3 cloves garlic
3/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Peel potatoes; cut into 2-inch chunks. In saucepan of boiling salted water, cook potatoes and garlic for 15 to 20 minutes or until tender. Drain and return to pot. Mash until smooth. Add buttermilk, salt and pepper; mash until fluffy.
