Deluxe Porridge

fruits

1 1/2 cups large-flake rolled oats; not instant
1/3 cup skim milk powder
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup natural bran
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon (each) salt and nutmeg
2 tablespoons (each) raisins and chopped pecans
2 tablespoons maple syrup

In large saucepan, bring 31/2 cups water to boil. Using wooden spoon, gradually stir in oats. Reduce heat to medium; cover and simmer for 10 minutes. Stir in skim milk powder, sugar, bran, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg; cover and cook for about 10 minutes or until porridge is thick enough to mound on spoon. Spoon into bowls. Top with raisins, nuts and maple syrup.
