Almond Cherry Crisp desserts, fruits, pies 4 cups drained thawed pitted sour cherries; or pitted fresh sweet black cherries 2 cups diced peeled apples 1/3 cup granulated sugar 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour for sour cherries; or 2 tablespoons for sweet 2 teaspoons lemon juice ----Topping---- 1 cup all-purpose flour 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 3/4 cup chopped blanched almonds 1 teaspoon grated lemon rind 1/3 cup butter; melted In large bowl, gently toss cherries, apples with the sugar, flour and lemon juice. Arrange evenly in greased 8-inch (8-cup) square glass baking dish. Topping: In separate bowl, combine flour, brown sugar and almonds and lemon rind. Drizzle with melted butter and stir until crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit mixture. Bake in centre of 350°F oven for 45 to 60 minutes or until bubbly, topping is golden and fruit is tender.
