Asian Steak Stew beef - other, stews 2 pounds beef stir-fry strips 2 onions; chopped 2 carrots; cut in chunks 2 cloves garlic; minced 1 can (8 oz) sliced water chestnuts; drained 1 1/2 cups beef stock 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 teaspoons grated gingerroot 1/4 cup (each) all-purpose flour and water 2 cups broccoli florets Brown beef strips in Dutch oven. Add onions, carrots, garlic, water chestnuts, beef stock, soy sauce and grated gingerroot; cover and simmer over medium-low heat for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Increase heat to medium; mix together all-purpose flour and water and stir in. Add broccoli florets and simmer until tender.
