Coffee Liqueur beverages 1/4 cup dark-roasted coffee beans 1 1/2 cups vodka 2 1/2 cups water 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar 1 tablespoon vanilla In coffee grinder, coarsely grind coffee beans. Place in 4-cup airtight jar; pour in vodka. Seal and let stand in cool, dark place for 5 days. In small saucepan, bring water and sugar to boil; boil gently for 15 minutes. Let cool to room temperature. In large measure, stir together vodka mixture, sugar mixture and vanilla; strain through coffee filter- or fine cheesecloth-lined funnel into decorative bottles. Discard coffee grounds. Seal bottles. (Make-ahead: Store in cool, dark place for up to 1 year.)
