Black Bean Sausage Soup

2 smoked sausages (4 oz); diced
1 onion; finely chopped
2 teaspoons ground cumin
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 can (19 oz) black beans; drained and rinsed

In large saucepan, brown sausages over medium heat, about 5 minutes. Add onion and cumin; cook, stirring occasionally, until softened, 2 minutes. Add tomato paste; cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add beans and 4 cups water; bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 minutes.
