Buttermilk Ranch Dressing

salads

1-1/3 cups buttermilk
2/3 cup light mayonnaise
4 teaspoons cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
3/4 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon granulated sugar
pinch garlic powder

In small bowl or glass jar, whisk together buttermilk, mayonnaise, vinegar,mustard, dill, parsley, salt, pepper, sugar and garlic powder. Variations: Peppercorn Ranch: Stir 1/2 teaspoon crushed black peppercorns into 1/2 cup Buttermilk Ranch Dressing. Also good as a sauce for hot or cold fish. Creamy Cucumber Dressing; Shred peeled cucumber to make 1/4 cup. Gently squeeze out excess water. Finely chop and add to 1/2 cup Buttermilk Ranch Dressing.
