Old-Fashioned Scalloped Potatoes vegetables, cheese, potatoes 4 cups sliced peeled potatoes; about 6 medium 1/2 cup chopped onion 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground pepper 2 tablespoons butter 2 1/2 cups hot milk 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese In greased 10-cup baking dish, layer about one quarter of the potatoes. Sprinkle with one-quarter of the onion, flour, salt and pepper; dot with one-quarter of the butter. Repeat layers three more times. Pour in milk. Bake, covered, in 350°F oven for about 1- 1/2 hours or until tender; remove lid during last half-hour to allow top to brown lightly. Top with cheese (if using).
