Peach Crumble With Ginger

4 cups sliced peeled peaches
1/4 cup chopped candied ginger
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
3/4 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 cup cold butter; cubed
1/2 cup slivered almonds; toasted

A crispy almond topping over juicy gingered peaches gives new meaning to old-fashioned comfort food. This dessert is also wonderful with cream or vanilla ice cream. In bowl, toss peaches with ginger and flour; set aside. In separate bowl, combine rolled oats, sugar, flour and cinnamon; using pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in almonds. Divide peach mixture among 6 greased 1-cup baking dishes; top evenly with oats mixture. Place on baking sheet and bake in 375 F oven for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden brown on top and bubbling . Serve warm.
