Fudgy Toffee Bars vegetables, candy 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate; coarsely chopped 1/3 cup butter 3/4 cup granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 tablespoon vanilla 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup toffee bits In heavy saucepan, melt chocolate with butter over low heat, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat. Whisk in sugar. Whisk in eggs, 1 at a time, whisking well after each addition. Whisk in vanilla. Using wooden spoon, gradually stir in flour. Stir in toffee bits. Line bottom of 8-inch (8 cup) square cake pan with parchment or waxed paper. Scrape batter into pan, smoothing top. Bake in centre of 350°F oven for about 25 minutes or until cake tester inserted in centre comes out with a few moist crumbs clinging. Let cool in pan on rack. Run knife around edges; turn out and remove paper. Cut into bars. Tips If you can't find toffee bits (such as Skor), use two (1 3/8 oz each) chocolate-coated caramel candy bars, chopped.
